Here is why you should not watch Avengers Endgame

Avengers Endgame: Marvel

First of all calm down. It sure sounds insane hearing that you should not watch Avengers Endgame but hear me out. Disclaimer: This is not a petition against watching Endgame.

My feelings against Endgame whatever they may be stems from my experience watching Avengers Infinity War.

Avengers infinity was an excellent movie and it still is. Every aspect of the movie was well thought out and portrayed in a way that would make any audience connect with the characters at a fundamental level. Most reviews of Avengers Infinity war were mostly positive. Scoring a 68 Metascore by 53 critics on IMDb and crossing a 2 Billion dollar mark at the Box office, a huge achievement for Marvel.

Scott Collura from IGN summarizes his view saying “Using the strength of its powerful and interesting villain to set the stakes higher than ever, Avengers: Infinity War successfully brings together the past 10 years of Marvel movies into a largely effective cocktail of super-heroic dramatics.”

Peter Bradshaw from The Guardian says “Somehow in its pure uproariousness, it works. It’s just a supremely watchable film, utterly confident in its self-created malleable mythology. And confident also in the note of apocalyptic darkness.”

Avengers infinity war is hands down the best movie I have ever watched (I haven’t seen Endgame yet). One thing amongst many others that made this movie work is the villain. I connected with the character and understood his reasons for being what he is and why he thinks the way he does. There was a small part of me that even advocated for him.
The combat and CGI did not disappoint. I found Thanos’ vs Dr. Strange’s battle scene unfathomable. Their punches were made of blackholes countered by butterflies.

But you already know this. The movie was great and I suspect Avengers Endgame will raise the bar a few notches. The fact that Avengers Endgame is arguably the best and most satisfying movie you can watch right now is both the highlight of a life and at the same time a life’s greatest disappointment. Avengers Endgame may not be a movie to watch because it will ruin every other movie for you. That is my argument.
After you watch Avengers Endgame, no other movie you watch after that may be able to beat the satisfaction. That is sad.
Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse came close but it left me with an ever so slightly unscratchable itch. Into the Spiderverse left me wanting for more. I left the theater a little disappointed because the awesome action scenes seemed a little short. There wasn’t enough action from Miles that could satisfy.
It is a disappointing feeling to have, that there might be no movie in a few months that will reach the satisfaction bar Endgame or Infinity War has raised and high up was it raised.

After all this talk, I will still watch endgame. I mean its a movie of a lifetime. Am not going to miss that for any disappointment I may have in the future.
