Apple today at its September keynote event held the Steve Jobs Theater at Cupertino California announced a new iPad. Its the 7th generation in its iPad line.
It comes just in time to take advantage of the new iPad OS, scheduled to arrive on September 20th which will be available for the new iPad from Day One. The OS will bring deeper integration with the Apple Pencil and desktop-class browsing.
The device is compatible with Apple’s Smart Keyboard for the first time as well as the first-generation Apple Pencil.
Powering the device is a 3-year-old A10 Fusion Chip, the same processor found in its predecessor and in the original iPhone x. the chip is still very capable and makes the device cheap but incredibly fast and smooth. The 7th generation iPad weighs just over one pound.
You can order the iPad today and it will ship by the end of the month.
The 7th-generation iPad will start at $329 and feature a slightly larger 10.2-inch retina display with 3.5 million pixels which should be ample sharp. (slightly smaller than last spring’s iPad Air).
